The Sequoia River Cabin is nestled in the Sierra Nevada foothills, in a quaint hamlet known as Three Rivers, Gateway to the Sequoias. We are just minutes (5 miles) to the Ash Mountain entrance of Sequoia National Park.
Our cute and cozy cabin has a well-equipped kitchen and a Weber gas BBQ, queen-size bed, a comfortable built-in reading nook with a view of the river. The cabin is ideal for a couple (no children or pets please). The rear deck is just steps away from the Main Fork of the Kaweah River.
Relax in the Sundance Spa, listen to the sounds of the river and marvel at the Blue Heron and various duck species that call the river home. You just might see some deer at the river's edge.
In the evening, relax in the lounge chairs by the river and be mesmerized by the spectacular star-studded night sky. There is a fire pit to enjoy a fire under the stars.
In the springtime, you can sit on the deck and catch a glimpse of the whitewater rafters and kayakers as they make their way down the river.
Here's what some of our guests have to say about their stay:
Peaceful Retreat I actually hate to put my review up out of selfishness as I don't want it booked whenever we decide to visit! The property is so serene, the yard very large and it is everything and more than the pictures show. You can absolutely fish right out the back door. It is very well maintained, clean and stocked with goodies that you don't always find in home rentals. The new owners have done a great job freshening the old place up and they are very helpful with any questions or needs. We were only there for one night, which wasn't enough, and didn't cook there. However, the kitchen is fully stocked including fresh fruit, coffee, spices and the little things that make it special. Next time we will definitely bring food to grill and cook. The bed was extremely cozy with wonderful pillows and a light down comforter. The bathroom has a great shower and out the door is the Jacuzzi tub overlooking the river. We Three Bakery is a great breakfast or lunch spot. The Gateway Restaurant has the most amazing views but a bit pricey for the quality of food. We got the filet and scampi combo and it was just OK. Regardless, don't let that hinder you and go for a sandwich or burger and then head up to Sequoia, just a couple miles away for the Big Trees and beauty! We will be back!
Love this cabin on the river! What more can I really say except that I want to go back already! So many places to sit outside and enjoy the river view... a cozy nook to read a book or take a nap... a jacuzzi overlooking the river... and the owners added so many new and comfortable touches; we felt at ease, like at home, but also well taken care of like at a nice hotel at the same time. The only thing that would make the property my perfect dream spot, would be a fully fenced in enclosure for the dog to run around off leash. Other than that, we were so happy we got to bring our doggie and she loved stepping in the river, the hiking nearby, and all the leapin' lizards.
Most relaxing trip ever! This cabin was exactly what I was looking for, if not more. I stayed there for three nights. The owners were so helpful and accommodating. They have everything you could possibly need in the cabin like cooking supplies, toiletries, beach towels, down to the mosquito coils for the back porch. I spent one day in Sequoia National Park. After a long (wonderful) day in the park, it was nice to have a short drive back to the cabin (about 15 minutes once you leave the park). The next day I relaxed in the jacuzzi most of the day and BBQ'd. It's actually a bath tub that was installed outside, which is nice because you get fresh water after the previous guests have been there. The only thing is that I had to turn on the hot water every once in a while to warm up the tub when it started getting cooler. The view from the tub is amazing. I saw some kayakers come down the river. Overall, I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a relaxing or romantic getaway.
Riverfront Cabin My husband and I spent a weekend here. The location is really lovely as the river is in your backyard. There are lounge chairs for sunning on the grassy river shore, and decks w/ chairs & a table. The outdoor jacuzzi bathtub on its own little deck fits 2 and it's nice to look at the sky whilst bathing. The bedroom is partitioned from the rest of the cabin but not completely separate, FYI. There is a nice little reading nook in the living room area. We went river rafting very nearby, which was fun. This rental is near Sequoia National Park in a fairly rural area.
Great Cabin On the River! We enjoyed a three-night stay in this nice little cabin. Richard and Jeanie are gracious hosts, and their attention to detail is evident everywhere on the property. The cabin is exceptionally peaceful and private, and the location (right on the river) really makes this place a destination as well as a convenient base-camp for national park visitors. We look forward to many return visits!
First couple getaway This was our first getaway as a couple. Just needed to get away not too far to relax. Saw the pics online and thought this cabin was so unique. And we were right! Ride up by the lake from the valley in our convertible was a great start. Had a great time sitting out by the river in the lounge chairs. Watched kayaker's going by from the tub on the back deck. Comfortable bed, great window seat to look out in the am while drinking morning beverage. Full service kitchen. Even loved the Dutch door on the front. We have already booked it again for a BDay weekend and hope to repeat our fantastic time for 2 nights this time. We call it "our" cabin now.
